Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) 2024

RRB ALP Recruitment
  1. Visit the RRB website.
  2. Click the link to apply for RRB ALP Recruitment.
  3. Enter the required details and complete the Registration process.
  4. Fill in the RRB ALP application form.
  5. Upload all the required documents, photographs, and signatures in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the application fee.
  7. Submit the application form and take a printout of the same for reference.

The documents required for a candidate to fill the RRB ALP form are given below:

  • Scanned copies of recent photograph
  • Signature
  • Caste certificate (SC/ ST category)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Candidate must have Matriculation + ITI/Diploma to apply for the RRB ALP 2024 exam.

OR

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/ Automobile Engineering in lieu of ITI.

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

  • General Science

Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.

2. CBT II

  • PART A
    • Mathematics

The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.

  • General Awareness

Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.

  • PART B

The questions in this part are asked from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualifications will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade. Candidates holding a Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trades from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline/HSC (10+2).

The pattern is different for different stages.

  1. CBT I
  • There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question.
  • The exam duration will be 60 minutes.
  • A total of 75 questions will be asked in the examination.

2. CBT II

  • Candidates who qualify for the CBT I will be shortlisted for the RRB ALP CBT II exam.
  • This consists of two sections: PART A and PART B.
  • There will be sectional timing for CBT II.
  • Part A will decide the progress of the candidate for further selection process.
  • Part B will only be a qualifying part with 35% of passing marks irrespective of the category of the candidate.

3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

  • The Computer Based Aptitude Test will be conducted only for the post of  RRB Assistant Loco Pilot.
  • The Minimum Qualifying Marks for this stage are 42 marks in each of the test batteries, irrespective of the category.
  • Candidates shall be shortlisted for this stage depending on their performance in CBT II.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of Computer Based AT.
  • The medium of questions for the CBAT will be English and Hindi.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • The merit list for RRB ALP will be prepared only from amongst the candidates who qualify for the CBAT stage.
  • To prepare the merit list 70% weightage will be allotted to the marks obtained in Part A of the second stage of CBT and 30% weightage will be for the marks obtained in CBAT.
