Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission Test 2025-26
The NVS has released the final prospectus of the JNVST-2025, the candidates & parents can apply for admission to class VI in JNVs through the selection test for the academic session 2025-26. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts a selection test twice a year.
Every year thousands of students participate in the selection test to enroll in JNVs. The authority has opened the application window to submit the online application form for the JNVST-2025. The candidates and parents should apply for the JNVST-2025 before the last date, 16 September 2024.
Currently, 653 JNVs are active in 08 UTs and 27 states, out of which 20 are Special JNVs to provide quality and affordable education to talented students. According to the JNV, a maximum of eighty students are enrolled in class VI through the JNVST in each JNV though the samiti has the right to reduce the seats.

STEPS TO FILL FORM
Students applying for the NVS admission class 6 for 2025-26 can follow the steps given below on how to fill up the NVS application form 2025-26:
- Visit the official site of Navodaya Vidyalaya: navodaya.gov.in.
- Go to the Navodaya Vidyalaya admission 2025-26 class 6 link.
- Upload the documents and images in their respective fields and submit them.
- Check all the details entered in Navodaya Class 6 admission form 2024 and ensure they are correct. In case of an error, edit the form and correct it.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button to save the NVS Class 6 admission 2025 form.
- Note down the application number and download a copy of the confirmation page.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Parents who want to register their child for the upcoming Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2024 are required to have the following documents in the soft copy format:
- Recent Photograph
- Candidates Signature
- Parent or guardian Signature
- Aadhar Card (Proof of date of birth)
- Residence Certificate or Proof
- A certificate verified by the school headmaster with candidate details in the instructed format.
- Proofs of eligibility as per conditions of NVS
- Marksheet of Class 5th
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students must know the NVS eligibility criteria when applying for Class 6 admission. If NVS determines that a student is not eligible for the JNVST admission 2025-26 Class 6 then their application form will be rejected. Below we have provided the eligibility criteria and conditions required for Navodaya Vidyalaya admission 2025 Class 6.
- Students can apply for the Jawahar Navodaya Class 6 Admission 2025-26 from their district.
- The JNV admission is district-specific, hence applicants can apply for the same district where he/she has studied class V.
- Students must be born before May 1, 2013 and after July 31, 2015 (both dates included).
- To get admission, the candidate has to be a minimum of 10 years old or a maximum of 12 years. If a candidate can not fulfil the age requirement then they will not be able to apply for the JNV admission 2025-26.
- They must complete their Class 5 from a recognized school to apply for Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 admission 2025-26.
- Applicants should pass Class IV, III, and V from schools spending one full academic session in each class.
- To get admission to Class 6, they must pass the NVS admission entrance exam 2025. The entrance exam will be held for 2 hours.
- Candidates who have passed class V before the 2024-25 session cannot apply for the JNVST.
- Applicants promoted to class V before 31 July 2024 are not eligible to apply for JNVST.
- Applicants are not eligible to apply for the JNVST class 6 application form for the second time.
SYLLABUS
Students who filled out the Navodaya Class 6 admission form 2025-26 must know that admissions are granted based on their performance in the admission test. Below, we have provided the NVS Class 6 syllabus 2024 to help them with the exam preparation.
- There will be 3 sections in the question paper
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Arithmetic Test (AT)
- Language test

- A total of 20 questions will be asked in the Language Test Section. The questions will be related to grammar and writing skills.
EXAM PATTERN
Before appearing for the JNV entrance examination 2025, students must check the exam pattern to get an insight into the questions that will be asked, the marking scheme and the duration of the Navodaya 6th Class admission test. - The NVS Class 6 admission exam will be conducted for 2 hours.
- Additional time of 40 minutes will be given to ‘“Divyang students or differently-abled students’.
- There is no negative marking in the exam.
- There will be 3 sections in the question paper containing 80 questions for 100 marks in total.
