PULWAMA ATTACK – A DAY TO REMEMBER, A NATION THAT WILL NEVER FORGET

Today, on February 14, we observe the 6th anniversary of the Pulwama Attack, a black day in India’s history. In 2019, a terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, shook the nation when a suicide bomber targeted a CRPF convoy, leading to the tragic loss of 40 brave CRPF soldiers. Their sacrifice remains etched in our hearts.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri paid a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Pulwama attack. He emphasized that their courage and dedication to the nation will continue to inspire generations to come. Their bravery serves as a reminder of the selfless commitment to the protection of India and its citizens.
Acts of terrorism rob us of the most basic human right – the right to life. Today, I join the entire nation in honoring the bravery and sacrifice of the courageous soldiers who lost their lives in the cowardly Pulwama attack. Their unwavering commitment to duty and their love for the nation will continue to inspire future generations.
On February 14, 2019, a 22-year-old suicide bomber attacked a bus, leading to the tragic martyrdom of 40 CRPF personnel. The bus was part of a larger convoy of 2,500 paramilitary troops and 78 vehicles, making its way from Jammu to Srinagar along NH44. This horrific attack shook the nation and highlighted the extreme sacrifices made by our security forces.

In retaliation to the Pulwama attack, on February 26, 2019, the Indian Air Force launched a daring operation, entering Balakot, Pakistan, and destroying terrorist camps through precise airstrikes. This action was a powerful response to the brutal attack on Indian soldiers, showcasing India’s resolve in the fight against terrorism.
